If you love The Sopranos like I love the Sopranos…

…you are going to need this nine part dissertation on the final episode of The Sopranos. I’ve only made it through Page 1, but wow.
(Sorry, Wire fans — this was the best teevee show ever. We can discuss this in the comments if you feel I’m wrong, which I ain’t.)

Just started disc 2 of season 3,seeing things I did’nt remember form our pre DVR days and HBO subscription era.Agree, its great viewing.
Hey! TFG. Yo right goombah!
i put deadwood and breaking bad up there with sopranos. i always judge a show on whether i can watch it twice or more. i couldnt watch the wire more than once, but sopranos ive watched 3 times, deadwood i cant even count, and breaking bad im working on number 2 right now. btw-why arent the rangers getting more serious about lohse? one more thing, i made my first royal thursday in omaha 8, and heres the kicker, literally…the river gave me quad jacks. alas, didnt get paid, but it was a site to behold.
So you bad-beat YOURSELF?
hehe, nah, just didnt have anybody playing against me when i checked the flop, bet the turn(got one caller) bet the river(he folded)
Love the Sopranos, Loved evey other season of The Wire. Love MAd Men
Boardwalk Empire is great too. The last three episodes this season were up there with the final episodes of the Sopranos.
I liked them both as well as the others mentioned – BE, Deadwood, and Breaking Bad. If I had to rank I think I’d go with The Wire, Breaking, Sopranos, Deadwood, BE. I own all of those sets. I suppose if you asked me tomorrow the order could be altered. I felt cheated on Deadwood. They just quit when another season or more was in order. That’s a lot of watched TV right there.
Agree on Deadwood, seems like a lot was left on the table. The first three or four episodes of BE,just had a chintzy B grade feel to them, then they started improving, don’t know why I had that impression.Don’t know if you guys have watched the Shield, but the whole seven season collection is great.
I absolutely loved Deadwood, but it didn’t get the full run it deserved. I’m apathetic about Breaking Bad, at least as far as it being great. Boardwalk is an interesting period piece, but it’s enjoyable. The Wire, just got under my skin in a bad way, though I have to admit I enjoyed watching it almost as much as The Sopranos. Agree on The Shield — that was an excellent series, and the ending was almost perfectly done.
Surprised no one has mentioned Hell on Wheels. That’s a great show on right now, too.
