This is just making me sick with worry and dread. I can’t fathom this continuing. It can’t. Work is drying up all over while Paulson hands out the billions and everybody waits anxiously for the One True Messiah to come in and make it trillions.

Because it just stinks too much of mercantilism, I guess, and that’s not an acceptable attitude in these days of misery and internationalism. A giant blow-up French Impressionist painting would be acceptable, I guess?
