Frightening, but not unexpected

One swing voter, swung | Gristmill: The environmental news blog | Grist

This morning, Grist caught up with the young woman who asked the question — Ingrid Jackson, 30, a senior psychology major at Tennessee State University in Nashville and a Children Services Officer for the Tennessee Department of Children Services. She said that while she “kind of leaned toward Obama” prior to last night’s debate, his answer to her question confirmed her inclinations.

This planet’s been cooling for 10 years, there are no sunspots any more, yet these people are going to vote based on their feelings about climate change. Typical “swing” vote, too — 30 years old, still a student, sucking at a government teat job. Christ. We’re just fucking doomed.

Where do I sign up for my WPA job? I figure, if I can get my name in early, I might have some seniority. Or are those going to the cocksucks with the biggest credit overhang? Fine, I got a shovel…I can dig a ditch. Can I do it out in the mountains or the prairies somewhere? Or do I have to go pedal a hamster-wheel so the Tennessee Department of Children Services has the lights on for Ingrid?

Worse than boring, though, was the overwhelming insistence by both of these clowns that we’re just minutes away from the Great Depression unless we turn on the Federal Reserve hydrant.

Pigs and troughs. Where’s my FEMA?
