Mr. B.’s mom, whose job it is to watch such things, thought it was a tie. She thought Mac won on content but Barry won on style. Style. Like an Olympic gymnast. Sigh.
Heh, heh. What style? His tie? His lapels? His dismount? Such is the state of things…style. If that’s important, give me the cranky old Navy man style over Rico Suave metrosexual style. You can’t buy a cranky old Navy man style.
Rico Uhhhbama, you can pick up 10 of him any day of the week…you’ll find ‘em waiting outside Mayor Daley’s office.

I don’t know why I want one, but I do.
I’m fixing to go over and talk trade with the owner of this:
That’s a 1969 GMC stepside with a six-banger and a 3-speed floor-mount trans (”with a Hurst shifter.”) It’s got some fuel-line issues, which are never fun, but otherwise it’s all there. Do I need one? No. But. I want one. I’ve always loved that body style, and a six-cylinder is the perfect place to start learning engine rebuilding. Which is yet another stupid hobby for a man of 48 to just decide to start doing. Well, I don’t have a ranch no more, so I can’t go bust brush to get my mind off the dreariness of this life. Might as well learn to turn a wrench. That’ll be important in the post-apocalyptic America of melted-down financial systems and Uhhhbama’s election. Besides, I’ve quelled my inner gearhead for about 35 of those 48…
Edited to note that Steve H. hipped me to the hand-held winch. Which I really want. C’mon — a handheld half-ton crane!
