Ben Smith’s Blog: Obama seeks to take down NRA ad - Politico.com
The Obama campaign has written radio stations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, pressing them to refuse to air an ad from the National Rifle Association.
“This advertisement knowingly misleads your viewing audience about Senator Obama’s position on the Second Amendment,” says the letter from Obama general counsel Bob Bauer. “For the sake of both FCC licensing requirements and the public interest, your station should refuse to continue to air this advertisement.”
The ad, “Hunter,” conflates Obama’s anti-gun stances of the 1990s with his current, more pro-gun, stand, and was chided for inaccuracy in The Washington Post, an item to which Bauer’s letter refers.
Leopards don’t change their spots, NMI.
There are so very many things wrong with the moron piece at the chiding Wasington Post, but how could we possibly ever expect better? Fact Checker, my ass…Nuance Spinner is way more accurate for a title.
Well, we shouldn’t. Barack NMI Obama and his little buddies do, indeed, want you to not own guns or ammunition. Go ahead and read it…come back and tell me different. The NRA did not misfire, not one little bit. NMI’s words were used, his very own words. I don’t care how much he says different now, prancing around on a national stage, threatening business owners, fishing for votes.
Hack. “Vote for me.” Hack, hack, hack. Still, people love him. They elect that Hastings idiot, they’ll elect this idiot, too. Why not?

WaMu is largest U.S. bank failure: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance
Washington Mutual Inc (NYSE:WM - News) was closed by the U.S. government in by far the largest failure of a U.S. bank, and its banking assets were sold to JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM - News) for $1.9 billion
Ummmm…that’s my few personal pennies, my mama’s retirement, and the eensie profits from my Tiny Bidness propping up these over-leveraged a-holes. I sure didn’t expect Chase to be, um, chasing rainbows in the Western housing market.
I seriously don’t have time to go move this shit around. Seriously. I’m so far under water. Where would I go with it, anyway? I got no banking cred. Nobody reputable wants me around stinking up the joint. Why, I haven’t borrowed a nickel since aught-one. I’m a loser.

Random Jottings: The numbers work…
And my main objection to the plan(s) is that no one seems to be shaping them to shape the financial sector to create a better future. No one seems to be planning with an underlying philosophy.
Absolutely 100% captures my unformed dread about the bailout. Thanks, John.
Of course, if we had done this five years ago, as baby-eatin’ GW and his puppets / string-pullers wanted to do, well, there would have been bi-partisan, semi-reasoned shaping going on. As opposed to running around like our hair is on fire, like they are now. Thanks, Barney Frank and fellow Democrats!

Political Radar: Florida Congressman: Palin ‘Don’t Care Too Much What They Do With Jews and Blacks’
Florida Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings pointed to Sarah Palin on Wednesday to rally Jews to Obama.
“If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,” said Hastings. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through.”
[blink, blink]
Elected. To Congress. By Americans. Obama supporter. Democrat.
Asked about the Hastings criticism, Palin spokeswoman Maria Comella said, “We’re taking a pass.”
