Google search finds seafaring solution - Times Online

As soon as I saw this idiotic headline, the first thought in my head was, who’s going to keep them from being overrun?

In my world, you don’t get the constant, cocooning protection of the US Navy if you’re not a part of the US. I’m sure Google could hire a phalanx of sharpshooters, and probably a few nice boats, but then what? Are Americans supposed to pay for this so we can get more shitty YouTubes?

How’s the Google going to get ads back to my search request from seven miles out to sea, anyway? They’re going to lay undersea cable? Certainly doable, but only under the watchful eyes of a national navy committed to protecting national interests.

I’m sure the Robbsian think this is the perfect plan for disintermediation of states and an advancement to weirdo global forms, but seriously — it’s an utterly moronic idea. In my wildest dreams, I can’t imagine a more perfect target than a floating Google datacenter, existing on it’s own.

Seriously? Merchandise?

God-o-Meter - A scientific measure of God-talk in the elections

God-o-Meter has learned that the Obama campaign is about to email religious supporters an annoucnement about a new line of Obama faith merchandise–bumper stickers, buttons, and signs with three different messages, featured here–along with the following note:

I hate linking blindly, but that shit’s just too funny. Merchandise. Like we were all sitting around undecided until someone offered up a Jesus Loves Obama And You Should, Too bottle opener with matching baby-doll tee.

Do they still call them baby dolls? I doubt it.
