Here’s a good reason not to drink so much or age

Posted by TFG on 30th September 2008

I changed my tiny garage office around to accommodate some (free) office furniture, and I forgot, as drunks do, and when I stood up to go get another beer, I didn’t remember I should turn right instead of left, and I ran smack dab into the wall.

No I don’t have any lights on, except this screen, so I’m not only a drunken elderly person, I’m a nerd, too. I just wish I had some Doom to play. How’s that for elderly? You kids get off my lawn or I’ll pepper you with rock salt.

Utter Dipshittery

Posted by TFG on 30th September 2008

I wonder if I painted Joe Biden, nekkid, on my carport roof, could I get some national media attention?

IDIOCRACY

It’s here, folks.  It’s time for all us non-morons to pack up, go to Mexico, and take over down there (won’t be hard, they’re Mexicans, they’re used to shitty governments.)  Canada, if you don’t like sweating.  Because I just can’t take much more of this.

Senate to vote on rescue plan Wednesday - Sep. 30, 2008

The vote is scheduled for after sundown, in observance of the Jewish holiday.

Holidays are nice and all, but I’m not getting a big sense of urgency here. Do we have to go thru some ridiculous observance of Ramadan here in our own damn country next?

Because I expect, if we’re at the brink of some cataclysmic meltdown, like they’re all saying, I expect mofos to be working weekends, graveyard, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to fix it. I’ve done it to stop my meltdowns. No reason these jackasses can’t, none at all.

Oh, just so you don’t miss the freaking headline — the sainted Senate is going to vote on some version of some bailout. Big whoop.

There is literally something every day of my life that makes me think to myself that the Founding Fathers were utter geniuses. Today, it’s a divided legislative body. That right there is why I’m a conservative, ya know. Who’s gonna say they know better than those old dead white males?

Personally, I hope Harry Reid gets his ass handed to him. Nancy is still trying to figure out how to re-attach hers. Karl Rove, on some radio show I don’t listen to, had a rundown of all the Democrats who voted NO, and it’s freaking hilarious. I’ll see if I can find it…seems like half of them are beholden to old Eyebrows Pelosi in some way, and she still couldn’t get The Suckout passed. Last I checked, the Donkies had a majority, you know. Looks like bipartisanship might be working, to me, the schmuck.

It’s why God gave us the internet

Think Progress » Palin on which newspapers she reads: ‘Um, all of them.’

Three separate times, Couric tried to elicit a response from Palin about which specific newspapers she reads.

She probably doesn’t read any, idiots, unless some old fart left it on the bench.

News sources, my ass. Propoganda outlets is more correct. Specific ones, with names, don’t really matter, now, do they? They’re mostly gonna be gone in a few years, anyway, and the sooner, the better.

The bottom line is that only a moron would actually care what name is at the top of page A-1 carrying a bunch of wire stories.

A real paying customer too. Paying cost-minus, but who hasn’t bought a reference story?

Indiana congressmen vote 6-3 against bailout bill | WSBT South Bend - Your Local News Leader | Campaign ‘08

“We are now in the golden age of thieves. And where I come from we put thieves in jail, we don’t bail them out.” — Rep. Pete Visclosky, Democrat

Great. I love that attitude. I know just where to start. Half a continent to the east. Get on it, Sheriff Mealy-Mouth. Go arrest Frank & Dodd, you punk….Carter, Clinton, Raines, Johnson, Waters, the rest. But especially Barney Pimp Frank.

Get on your horse, Pete, you lying sack of crap.

Distress and Woe

Posted by TFG on 29th September 2008

I personally am not horribly disturbed by the failure of the bailout bill. I keep hearing that it’s to save the financial system that underpins America’s capitalist society, but if so, why, then is it so socialist?

I say. let the markets work it out. If people go bust, they go bust. Too bad. I’m teetering on the edge of bust, personally. There’s nothing in the current discussion for me, for my kids or grandkids, for my mama. Why are any of them expected to help out some dipstick who can’t figure out an ARM?

Yes, it’s exceedingly simplistic, but I’m not sure I can see where America is damaged by the loss of a bank or twelve. Reducing the Master of the Universe douchebag quotient can’t be a bad side effect, either.

Well, whatever. I wish my granddad was here, so I could ask him about it.

UPDATE: So I walked from my luxurious office off the garage to the living / teevee room, and turned on the toob, and here’s a damn lawyer, Greta Von Facestretch, and all she can say is ‘what about the new cars? what about the home additions?’ Here’s what’s up with that, you toad — ixnay. Wait a few weeks. The answer to this garbage starts at home, not in Nancy Pelosi’s office. Idiots, just freakin’ idiots. I’m so tired of Dependent America. Get up on your own back feet, or find an ice floe.

THE TEXAS SCRIBBLER: McCain won, I think

Mr. B.’s mom, whose job it is to watch such things, thought it was a tie. She thought Mac won on content but Barry won on style. Style. Like an Olympic gymnast. Sigh.

Heh, heh. What style? His tie? His lapels? His dismount? Such is the state of things…style. If that’s important, give me the cranky old Navy man style over Rico Suave metrosexual style. You can’t buy a cranky old Navy man style.

Rico Uhhhbama, you can pick up 10 of him any day of the week…you’ll find ‘em waiting outside Mayor Daley’s office.

Buy Me One of These? For Christmas?

Posted by TFG on 27th September 2008

I don’t know why I want one, but I do.

I’m fixing to go over and talk trade with the owner of this:

That’s a 1969 GMC stepside with a six-banger and a 3-speed floor-mount trans (”with a Hurst shifter.”) It’s got some fuel-line issues, which are never fun, but otherwise it’s all there. Do I need one? No. But. I want one. I’ve always loved that body style, and a six-cylinder is the perfect place to start learning engine rebuilding. Which is yet another stupid hobby for a man of 48 to just decide to start doing. Well, I don’t have a ranch no more, so I can’t go bust brush to get my mind off the dreariness of this life. Might as well learn to turn a wrench. That’ll be important in the post-apocalyptic America of melted-down financial systems and Uhhhbama’s election. Besides, I’ve quelled my inner gearhead for about 35 of those 48…

Edited to note that Steve H. hipped me to the hand-held winch. Which I really want. C’mon — a handheld half-ton crane!

“Bad Social Engineering Caused This…”

Posted by TFG on 26th September 2008

Nine important minutes about the Democratic-majority-led clusterfuck going on in DC over Democrat-mandated mortgages.

The debate was worth watching - much less structured than whatever other boring debate I watched last. Uhhhbama spoke better than I expected, but most of what he said was socialist bullshit, like windpower and solarpower and beanpower and boogerpower - pipe-dream crap you expect from a, yes, social-engineering Progressive. Except when he was agreeing with John McCain, which was a lot of the time.

His new gray hairs are gonna make the BarelyLegals run away in droves, too.

PS to the cable babbleheads - fuck the soundbite moments. Focus, please, on the respective messages, and not how well the verbals fit in the Inco machines, you assholes.

Uhhhbama

Posted by TFG on 26th September 2008

Uhhhbama

Say it with me — greatest derogatory nickname for the month - Uhhhbama.

Because, I’ve heard great speeches and great speakers in my lifetime — this guy ain’t one of ‘em. Not by a far cry. It’s just the Moron Media looking for a nice story to tell and the BarelyLegal college crowd who’ve never heard a great speech in their life that’s turned this shrimp into a modern-day Churchill. Idiocracy, in other words.

Thanks, Ace.

Bailout Genius of the Week

Posted by TFG on 26th September 2008

Sine Qua Non: The Bailout

Whatever form the bailout bill eventually takes, I’ll agree to it on one condition: that it include an amendment that every current member of Congress be prohibited from ever holding elected office again. I’m not asking for term limits, only that this current bunch of utterly detestable miscreants be thrown out of office in disgrace at the first opportunity. Normally, I’m opposed to term limits and the like since there are some good people it would be shame to lose but right now the balance is so out of whack on the side of bums and crooks that the only solution seems to be to throw out the babies with the bathwater. If the bailout bill includes another amendment requiring the tarring and feathering of Representative Frank and Senators Schumer and Dodd for their roles in creating this fiasco and standing firmly athwart reform yelling “Stop!” I promise not even to complain about the $70,000 or so of debt I will be asked to take on to pay for it.

I’m in…would that there was some way we could make it happen…not coming up with any ideas on how, though…these congressional dipsticks would rather send this country into a watery grave before giving up their precious status.

For some reason, this bright boy stops by one of the moldiest, dustiest corners of the internet. I’m thankful for that.

Cobb: The Smartest Money

Posted by TFG on 26th September 2008

Cobb: The Smartest Money

BTW. I am in agreement with the most cynical folks. The taxpayers are the stupidest investors in all of this, and as disorganized and clueless as we are, we’re going to get fleeced by the smarter, more cynical investors. If anybody here is trusting political representatives to save our asses, you deserve nothing but ridicule. The average American is going to get wholly hosed. Our money is cheap, and since there is basically no way for us to get it back (unless McCain or Obama does something incredibly unprecedented and dramatic), you may as well kiss it goodbye, which of course we wouldn’t have to do IF WE WEREN’T SO STUPID WITH IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Yeah, pretty much.

The thing that makes me mad is that there are millions in this country who aren’t clueless and disorganized — they’re just organized and clueful for them and their families and their communities, but not the shiftless bums who bought McMansions on a 125% loan. It never occurred to any of us that we’d have to bail out that asshole, and certainly not the MBS GSE LMNOP socialistic Great Society Affordable Housing jagoffs running berserk through the bank vaults.

But screw it…it’s what capitalists do…we’ll make more money, naysayers be damned. Someday soon, though, the Eloi are going to have to bend a knee to us Morlocks.

Silencing dissent?

Ben Smith’s Blog: Obama seeks to take down NRA ad - Politico.com

The Obama campaign has written radio stations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, pressing them to refuse to air an ad from the National Rifle Association.

“This advertisement knowingly misleads your viewing audience about Senator Obama’s position on the Second Amendment,” says the letter from Obama general counsel Bob Bauer. “For the sake of both FCC licensing requirements and the public interest, your station should refuse to continue to air this advertisement.”

The ad, “Hunter,” conflates Obama’s anti-gun stances of the 1990s with his current, more pro-gun, stand, and was chided for inaccuracy in The Washington Post, an item to which Bauer’s letter refers.

Leopards don’t change their spots, NMI.

There are so very many things wrong with the moron piece at the chiding Wasington Post, but how could we possibly ever expect better? Fact Checker, my ass…Nuance Spinner is way more accurate for a title.

Well, we shouldn’t. Barack NMI Obama and his little buddies do, indeed, want you to not own guns or ammunition. Go ahead and read it…come back and tell me different. The NRA did not misfire, not one little bit. NMI’s words were used, his very own words. I don’t care how much he says different now, prancing around on a national stage, threatening business owners, fishing for votes.

Hack. “Vote for me.” Hack, hack, hack. Still, people love him. They elect that Hastings idiot, they’ll elect this idiot, too. Why not?
