All I really needed to know

Not giving a flip about stupid girly dance numbers that are completely unrelated to Higher, Faster, Stronger (or whatever it is), I’ve been letting my blogroll tell me about the idiotic mandatory overblown Opening Ceremonies of the mumble-mumble Olympiadian Spektackles. In a post titled Call me when they get to gunpowder, Pete says:
Congrats China, you ceremony really appealed to the German in me.
Kinda what I figured. Read Pete’s whole post, too — the boy gets off a good zinger in just about every line.
I’m personally not too happy with Bush trundling over there to kowtow to the Red Chinese. It’s all theatre, though, and they’re a major trade partner, and bidness is bidness, so I can see why he did it. I still don’t like it, don’t approve of it, don’t support it. I’m just hoping we have a Jesse Owens or 20 on the roster to kick some totalitarian ass.
Nice timing for John Edwards’ “mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima weiner culpa”, too. Someone should start a site called CrapDumpedUnderTheRadarDuringTheOlympics.com. Perhaps some enterprising journalism major might step up to the plate. It would make some good reading, I bet.
