Slideshow from the dragboat races

Posted by TFG on July 24th, 2008

Let’s see if this works:

Created with Admarket’s flickrSLiDR.

Kinda dull, but I was working out speeds and zoom settings and the right place to be for good shots. Boring hobbyist stuff. If you just want to see them, you can go directly to them.

Damn, there’s some serious horsepower in those boats. I never could take good action shots; I’ve got several blurry pictures of the ass-end of the #7 at the NASCAR race in Chicagoland to prove that.

I enjoyed ths slides; you are a serious new-media dude.

Were the “Cajun Chicken Sticks” any good?

2500hp in those Top Alcohol Flatbottoms. I was there with some friends who own the #728, and they do 800hp. It’s freaking unreal — you should see if there’s a dragboat race around you, hoss, and go see it. It’s a merry old time.

How’d you know what I ate all weekend? Yes, they were good, but I got kinda blue when I realize they just pull them out of the freezer and drop ‘em in the grease. What’s authentic anymore if you can’t trust fried stuff on a stick?
