“Everything is seemingly spinning out of control” territory.
My idiot mind goes straight into airplane serial killer genre novel territory when I read that headline, like there was some kind of mass penguin grave uncovered by the Rio coppers and they have to bring in any one of my hundreds of paperback detectives to clear the case. Right now, I want Reacher on it.
The other part of my idiot brain goes into Jim Jones territory, with a charismatic elder penguin making the mamas make the babies drink the kool-aid.
Maybe next year, some daffy Hollywood type will do an animated movie about turkey buzzards and everybody will love their road-kill-eating scavenger asses. Christ, they’re birds. It reminds me of one of my favorite Thurber lines — “Good God, the birds have taken over!” I guess you had to be there.
FWIW, baby penguin carcasses have been washing up on South America beaches since there were penguins and South America. Only now, thanks to modern technology, we have people who can tell us about it, as if it mattered. Thanks, Internet!

Of course they blame it all on the evil humans. Over fishing and pollution from the oil fields.
The world would be such a better place if only we could be rid of the hoomens that destroy all the pristine wildlife.

Ha, you know as well as the Gorebot knows, that this is another sign of human-caused global warming. Those poor penguins are suffering so you and I (and Gore, truth to tell) can drive big cars and have lots of air conditioning. Shame on us!

Truthfully, I stopped caring about this crap a long time ago. Animals are wild, hence WILD Animals. Wild animals do stupid shit. Stop me if I’m going too fast. No logic, no reason, just will of survival. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don’t. Plus there’s the whole “herd” mentality as well. It’s in the Encyclopedia, Gore-ites, look it up.
Yes, I know I am an evil cold hearted bitch. I take it as a compliment now.
