Wes, I couldn't imagine enjoying this stuff now for the first time. If you can, you're musically a better man than I am. I love it now because it's baked into my DNA from many hours of listening to it on record, cassettes, reel-to-reel, and not incidentally, at one or two of Kramer's enterprises. Seriously, there's no way I could listen to Thurston Moore's effed-up guitar tunings without that. But, having said that, I really do hope you can get into it. What those guys were doing is still a magnitude of order, and possibly even two or three, better than most rawk I hear these days. Not that I hear a lot of indy underground punkish shit, where these cats came from.

Kramer: I learned at your feet, my friend, and paid for the privilege.

Fuck, I've still got a crush on Kim Gordon, and I'm freaking 48 years old. Yeesh.

Sonic Youth is one of those bands I completely missed out on back then. That is a great song and video though.

Off to the Internet! To find Sonic Youth.
