You know what I miss about North Texas?

Weather.
Living in San Antonio is like living inside a missile silo. I want a big out-of-the-blue nut-stomping thunderstorm with ozone-crackling lightning and 60mph straight-line winds and a chance you’re gonna get killed by a random tornado or a cow from the next county falling on your head.
I always thought I’d love living on the beach in South California, but now I’m pretty sure I’d go stir-crazy. I am now, but there ain’t no beach to distract me, either.

Man, that is just a beautiful piece of prose. So accurate.

Just give it a few more months and you’ll be in the middle of a major flood, courtesy of the remnants of a tropical storm or hurricane making its way inland.

I miss those storms, too.
When I was in my twenties a friend and I shared an apartment in a big complex at Turtle Creek and Lemmon.
My bedroom had a big window facing north. It was better than a home theater.

Oh hell yea. Only thing better was when I lived in Midland for a short time. At 3:00pm you could see those thunderheads building and by 6:00pm tornados were hiting everyhwere! Yee HAww

Yeah, I’ve seen some of those West Texas boomers. They are pretty awesome.
