I was sorry to see it end because the characters were, I thought, finely drawn and well acted out.

I'd cancel out too, but HBO hits the mark on their series productions too often. Sopranos, Wire, and I think the John Adams thing is going to be good. Pshrinks and their patients - not my cup of prozac.

Really good show, lots of loose ends tied up. I am surprised that Simon and friends settled for mostly happy endings, happy and utterly corrupt anyway. Of course, Mencken is his patron saint, so that helps explain the dung-colored glasses they see everything through. I had typed "Of curse" rather than "Of course" to start the last sentence -- rather a good Freudian slip I think. I'm sure there will be a lot to nitpick later, but I'm happy with most of the endings. David Simon now has to go and let us all bad real wars are now, rather than just the fake ones. Gee, what if he discovers that real wars never really end either? Would that mean that they aren't real?

That Gabriel Byrne show is the funniest show I think Ive ever seen on HBO. Oh, what, you mean I'm not supposed to laugh at all those pathetic bastards trying to outpathetic each other? The one and half shows I watched had me laughing out loud. Does that make me a bad person?
