Ah, Youth

Posted by TFG on February 8th, 2008

Yes, I may end up launching Guinness and Politics so I can properly address this nonsense. This is arguably one of the most important elections in our country’s history and it deserves some attention.

This Presidential election has been going on since November of 2004, and it has been covered in more depth, by more people, with more platforms, than any Presidential election in my lifetime. I’m at a loss as to how it could possibly get more attention.

I am so utterly sick of the process, never mind the twisted megalomaniacs actually running, that I am perfectly content with excusing myself for-frikkin’-ever from the whole shebang, and leave it to the kids. Most Americans have become so scared of liberty and so sure that Santa Claus exists that I don’t have a place here anymore, except as that cranky uncle grandpa, eternally creaking on about the damn revenooers. So, just piss on it and pass the bourbon.

This is the eighth time the most important presidential election in history has taken place since I’ve been eligible to vote. If I collect two more I think I get a couple of free tacos or something.

Remember, all politics are lethal local. Especially in my town.

The youth vote is a myth. They campaign, they yell, various candidates claim they have their support, but then they never come out and vote in sizable numbers. If you pass on the vote, it’ll be determined by people older than you are, not younger.

Correct. Thank God Youth don’t vote until they wise up with age

If Obama wins the primary, it will be the first time I’ve voted for a president versus settling for lesser of two evils.
