When it comes to free roaming cats we got the property rights of owners and non-owners alike, health doncersn for man and animal & parity in the law for dog owners at stake here. With a boat load of birds passin thru, Brazoria county has more bird species than any other county in north america. City workers keepin wild cats on city property aint' a recipe for sucess any way you look at it. If you take into account the multitude of new cultures we have mergin here in the home of the Callous Dow Boys then we got a recipe for a civic mess. I got a right to my property and it dont include keepin cats. My killin days are over but I appreciate this fella pickin up my slack. I trap cats and feel aweful every time the city truck drives away. I found out later they used to dump 'em around the corner most of the time. So no harm no foul there. However, it is estimated by the american bird conservancy that million of birds a day are killed in the USA by free roaming feral and domestic cats. We got a large number of birds migrating thru here. We need to get a grip on the rights of owners and non-owners alike. In the end, I think most of us can agree that how a person treats an animal is a sure clue to how they'll treat another person
