U.S.: NKorea to declare nuclear programs - Yahoo! News
North Korea agreed Sunday to account for and disable its atomic programs by the end of the year, offering its first timeline for a process long sought by nuclear negotiators, the chief U.S. envoy said.
Kim Gye Gwan, head of the North Korean delegation, said separately his country’s willingness to cooperate was clear — in return for “political and economic compensation” — but he mentioned no dates.
Correct me if I’m wrong here, but didn’t the Norks already lie through their teeth about their nuclear plans to an American president and set of American diplomats once already?
Let’s hope that this time they don’t have their fingers crossed. Let’s hope that BushCo negotiated American (military) verification, and that we’re not leaving it to the trans-national NGOs.
Meantime, let the speculation begin on why — Kim “Long Dong” Jong Il is not celebrated for his rationality, nor for his commitment to his countrymen’s well-being. Coup?
