What a concept, that you don't actually have to DO anything to get in trouble. All you have to do is exist for someone who doesn't like you, and who has the stroke, to lock you you for being you. I'm gay and if someone doesn't like that, fine. He's got the right, and he can shout it from the rooftops as long as he wants, as long as he's not disturbing the peace in my neighborhood. But if he starts to try to beat up on me, that's a different thing. If he incites someone else to beat up on me, or to kill me, that's a different thing. The very idea of a thought crime places people into categories, and the <em>categories are a class system</em>. It's no worse to kill me than to kill a straight, white, homophobic male football player for there is no pride of place under the embalmer's touch. Anyone who talks about thought crimes or hate crimes--the same thing--is holding some life as being worth less than other life. Hm. I think I'll expand on this. Don’t you just love thought crimes?
