Rain, Rain, Rain

I’m so GDMFSOBing tired of working in the mud…looking at grass 8″ high…watching my boards warp…wondering if I left the windows down on the truck. It’s probably good to shut down and be indoors and relax a little…but I ain’t relaxed. This is getting to me. I’ve got work to do, and damn little time to do it. I need these weekends of mild physical labor, and I’m getting sick of sitting here & watching it drizzle.
A little less rain might mean I could relax with some shooting or some golfing or some fishing, too. Not that I want to get any kind of serious disengagement going or anything…it would all fall apart if I did that.

That is the kind of crap that went on down here on the coast all winter. Could not get outside to do anything that required a day of dry weather, like painting, etc.
The Brazos has been full and muddy all spring, not from our rain, but yours.
It’s still raining often, here, but we do have a day or two of steam in between storms.

I wrote that after I waited all damn day for the thunderclouds to blow over, which they did without raining a drop, and then when the sun’s shining and I’ve all got all my shit out trying to finish the deck in the hot, steamy, bright sun — here comes the rain, with the sun shining. Pisses me off. I want to finish my deck and the roof and go get a smoker.

Duuuude the Brazos is on the news and I hope you and yours are not being affected beyond wet hats and cowboy boots. Your Vegas trip implies all’s well.

Thankfully, no. I sold the Brazos ranch almost a year ago, and I’m down in San Antonio now. We’re getting plenty of rain here, but nothing like what they’re getting up there.
