Great Question

Posted by TFG on October 21st, 2006

Why is the White House so Eerily Confident about the Coming Elections?

I’d say that it’s because they realize the polls don’t mean dick. If anyone were to ask, that is. But nobody does, because I’m busy earning a living…the QuinipiacWSJNBCABCCNN designer-frame a-holes can’t find me If anyone were to ask, though, my response would be “Why does anyone give a damn?” Because no matter who is there, they’re going to try to stick it to the working man. The bigger (OK, biggest) question is, who is going to stick it in just far enough to keep me breathing?

I’ll take the Republicans every time. Forty years of experience tells me that the Democrats are going to want me to pay for everything for someone I’ve never met. Never mind take my guns away.

Simplistic? You bet it’s simplistic. Go talk to a politician. See how nuanced those dorks are. It’s a problem in a capitalistic society that rewards producers, this having to be ruled by the majority of dorks. That’s why we pay lobbyists…to try to keep the dorks off our producing asses. Sometimes it works, sometimes we elect FDR and get the New Deal. Stuff happens.

That doesn’t mean we stop. Producing, that is. Hell, we’ve got kids and grandkids. The American Miracle is that there are still enough of us willing to keep a hand to the plow. And we’ll still be here no matter who’s King Turd in the cesspool of WDC.

Hand to the plow? Who is John Galt?

The gun thing pretty much means I have to keep voting for the lesser of the two electable evils, the GOP. While in my fantasies, I’d like to see the pony-tailed legalize-hemp/privatize the roads/post-office crowd win (more info at http://www.clairewolfe.com), if only to p*ss off the self-appointed ruling classes of both parties, I realize that a vote for the ideal helps the evil (Democrats) win over the less-evil (Republicans).

And I don’t think this election will be quite the rout for the Republicans that the talking heads have been predicting for so long. Us hicks in the sticks know what’s at stake.

Just wait for the Wednesday morning after when all these polls will be used as prima facie evidence that the Republicans have lied, cheated, and stolen yet another set of elections.

I saw somwehere today that someone over at the Huffpo is advocating “taking it to the streets” if they don’t win. Such nice people.

R, the gorgeous Kentucky bourbon I was, er, sipping loosed my inner Ayn. A kid can dream, though, right? Claire looks interesting, so thanks.

Charles, I agree. It’ll just be a continuation of the droning we’ve heard since 2000. A small, contrarian, malignant part of me wishes for a Democratic win, just for stalemate purposes, but then, I’m not kidding myself, either. It will be yet another disaster that we’ll have to dig out from under if they do win.

….ummmm…I smell some convergence of reality here. I think the Public mayhap some blending of what needs to be done. Douse me with gas & set me afar, but Iraq is worthwhile….yet how it is managed is unacceptable (quoting a friend wha has been there 2 years, “…we didn’t expend enough ordinance there to begin with…”). I understand what is attempted there, but, you can’t talk to these people & make it right, you can’t jack them off, you can’t negotiate. The islamofacists mean to murder as many as they can…and bring the rest of us to our knees. The DemonCraps want to “talk” to them & “understand” them. F#%K that!!! Iraq calls for Armageddon. Wake up!!!! It’s too late. They have made the call. Stand ready.

    …..F#%K the 12th imam….right straight up the stinkstar….

Claire is on a real anti-Bush tear at present, but I think she’s always just pretty much anti-establishment in a libertarian way. I still enjoy her “Wolfesblog” on her site, her writings at http://www.backwoodshome.com, her columns in S.W.A.T. Magazine, and of course her books like “101 Things to Do ‘Til the Revolution,” and others, including an update of 101 Things, now up to maybe 179 things.

But what, I ask, would Kinky do to the workin’ man of Texas, as governor?

Kinky would screw us out of sheer ignorance.

I will not drink the kool-aid, fearmongering only works for so-long,the Republican party has been given just enough rope to hang itself, take your guns away? Aint gonna happen! There are to many checks as in $ and no balances,You ought to be more concerned with the doing away with habeas corpus, record budget deficits, a war gone miserably wrong,a corrupt administration more so than even DICK Nixon,A congress that looks the other way at a pedophile member and your’e really worried about Democrats fucking things up!Get real, there is no man so blind as one who refuses to see!

  9. TFG Says:

Spike…you\’re drinking kool-aid, dude, just another flavor.

  10. SpikeinDallas Says:

yeah but not the pseudo-synchopated electronic Nashville disco country-pop light, low carb, baby this is the real thing, and besides I’m not a bleeding-heart liberal, I just don’t understand how so many people have fallen for this imposter of a prez. He does not share my idea of conservatism,or that of many others that I know.

  11. TFG Says:

He’s no Reagan, but he’s a) no Al Gore, b) no John Kerry, and c) no Hillary. So what do you do? Bitch and moan, and stay home from the polls? Or vote for the progressives? Go ahead…

  12. Realist Says:

Why is the Republican leadership so eerily confident? Because over 80% of the “voting” machines in America are owned by just two companies, Diebold and E.S.& S., which are staunchly Republican. And they know they only have to rig the ones in the districts that are up for grabs to maintain control of both houses. They don’t worry because they know Diebold and E.S.& S. have it covered baby!!
