The big money boys think all this media-driven hoo-ha about polls is BS. I of course agree, and I’ll take part of the blame, too. I routinely tell people to lie to the idiot pollsters. This country needs fewer pollsters, and if they keep getting it wrong because you’re lying to them, then they’ll eventually go away. This is my fervent hope and prayer, anyway. So keep lying to the sumbitches, peeps. It’s none of their business, anyway.
It will spell the death of roughly two-thirds of the blogosphere, these people who rely on dreary daily polls for something to type about, but there’s hope there, too…maybe they’ll take up butterfly collecting or making field recordings of badgers in heat, and therefore actually add something to the human race.

For whatever reason, I’m a little more excited about this World Serious than I have been for some time. But, dear sweet merciful Lord in Heaven, can we somehow make Fox take Eric Byrne off the air? He’s seriously bugging me, as in, on my last nerb. Feed a talking monkey some amphetamines, and that’s Byrne.

Why is the White House so Eerily Confident about the Coming Elections?
I’d say that it’s because they realize the polls don’t mean dick. If anyone were to ask, that is. But nobody does, because I’m busy earning a living…the QuinipiacWSJNBCABCCNN designer-frame a-holes can’t find me If anyone were to ask, though, my response would be “Why does anyone give a damn?” Because no matter who is there, they’re going to try to stick it to the working man. The bigger (OK, biggest) question is, who is going to stick it in just far enough to keep me breathing?
I’ll take the Republicans every time. Forty years of experience tells me that the Democrats are going to want me to pay for everything for someone I’ve never met. Never mind take my guns away.
Simplistic? You bet it’s simplistic. Go talk to a politician. See how nuanced those dorks are. It’s a problem in a capitalistic society that rewards producers, this having to be ruled by the majority of dorks. That’s why we pay lobbyists…to try to keep the dorks off our producing asses. Sometimes it works, sometimes we elect FDR and get the New Deal. Stuff happens.
That doesn’t mean we stop. Producing, that is. Hell, we’ve got kids and grandkids. The American Miracle is that there are still enough of us willing to keep a hand to the plow. And we’ll still be here no matter who’s King Turd in the cesspool of WDC.
