40 years of baseball…

Posted by TFG on 13th October 2006

…and I’m still surprised and somewhat shocked at the Tiggers, but mostly shocked at the Oaklands laying down and dying. Never mind the impossiblity of Prime Knucklehead Kenny Rogers pulling two good post-season games in a row out of his nethers. I’ll tell you this…I’ll be irrevocably planted in front of the tube for Haren/Bonderman* tomorrow at 3:30 CT.

Plus, go Cards. Give me the Flyover World Serious. Let the coastals and their networks stew.

* As my pal Otis reminds me, this Bonderman was the kid that caused Billy Beane to throw a chair across the room on draft day because he was naught but a high-school pitcher. That (drafting a high-schooler) is a serious Moneyball no-no, for you lesser beings.

U.S. wasted chance to improve the world: Gorbachev
Maybe we were a wee bit tired from managing death-dealing Commies on behalf of the entire fucking world, Mikhail…maybe we took a few minutes too long to get on the get on top of the next bunch of death-dealers. Sue us, you whiny little bitch.

North Korea, which said on Monday it had successfully completed a nuclear test, was an example. Only China and Russia were in a position to handle Pyongyang, he said

Fine. Get the eff on it. What are you waiting for? An engraved invitation? C’mon — what’s the hold-up?* The Russkis and the ChiComs have known about the NorKs nuclear ambitions (wink, wink) at least as long as I have. So get cracking, big guy. Nothing I’d love more than to take a small step back and watch you toads try to manage this without the threat of the free-market armed services and our lovely dollar-sign nukes.

* The hold-up is that they’re Commies and socialists and they’re still pissed off that they got their ass kicked by a bunch of capitalists that didn’t starve millions** trying to win a race that they won by a country mile. Just think what else we, the capitalists, could do without the shackles of our own home-grown socialists.

** Rather, we fed the entire damn world. Then we taught them how to do it themselves. But no, we’re the assholes. Piss on ye, Gorby. You lost. The asthma field is over there.
