Muslim cabbies refusing the blind and drinkers
This is naught but a dumb “news” story highlighting the multi-culti difficulties faced in Our Modern World (”Muslims are good people and the community has to realise that the days of the white Anglo-Saxon Protestant are well and truly over“), this time in Oz. But I learned something that might explains a large part of why Muslims are so effed - their prophet apaprently didn’t like dogs:
One Muslim driver, Imran, said yesterday the guide dog issue was difficult for him.
“I don’t refuse to take people, but it’s hard for me because my religion tells me I should not go near dogs,” he said.
There are about 2000 Muslims among drivers of Melbourne’s 10,000 taxis. Many are from countries with strict Islamic teachings about “unclean” dogs and the evils of alcohol.
A religion with an injunction against man’s best friend — that’s just screwed up, folks.
Why does Mohammed hate Speck?

Francis Poretto’s Sunday Ruminations series is a pretty good replacement for a sermon from a pulpit.*
Young people, scoffers, and unserious men will practice brunch club theology nevertheless. For those of us who have been touched by faith and feel the Omnipresent Immanence in our hearts, there’s no point in dueling with them. Particularly, not for those of us who are Christians, for we proceed from events reported to have occurred in this universe — the teachings and miracles of Christ; His Passion and Crucifixion; and His Resurrection as He had predicted — which were multiply witnessed and recorded by scribes in whom we’ve placed our trust.
Yes, we could be wrong. If you’re so inclined, go ahead; try to prove it. We’ll wait.
I encourage a full reading if you’ve ever given any thought to the contradiction of free will and an all-knowing God. Hopefully, you’ve done that very thing, right? RIGHT???
* It’s probably 20+ years since I’ve had a church home within an organized religion. Sometimes I miss it, but most times I don’t. What I do miss when I miss it is the fellowship with smart guys like Francis here.

Craig, that is…
Now watch the boys on ESPN start with the “What Will Theo do?” and “what will George do?” stories. They won’t even wait for the series to finish.
…and it’s a big part of my apathy towards the sport I’ve loved since I was six. Thank the Lord for the internet tubes, so I don’t have to depend on Easy, Superfluous, Pathetic Network.*
*How far they’ve fallen, eh? It’s so totally geared to Gen Z, I can’t even watch anymore. It pains me.
