An explanation of sorts

America’s south snubs country music | Reuters.com

Meanwhile, the Western region has quietly ramped up, becoming the most fertile ground. And the Northeast — long thought of as the region least attuned to country music — is, for many record promoters, now their second-best area.

The Southeast, which includes such country-friendly states as Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and the Carolinas, has become a difficult region for new music, according to label executives. And radio promoters say the Southwest — Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas — is the last place they’re likely to break a new act or get airplay on a new single.[editor's note: nyuk-nyuk; it should be that way...we gots standards 'round here, son]

“The Southwest, if you’re not George Strait, is absolutely the hardest place to start any record, whether it’s an established act or a new artist,” says Gator Michaels, senior VP of promotion at Warner Bros. Nashville, home of Faith Hill.

So if I understand this correctly, the spiritual home of country and western music is rejecting, with great vigor, clear into the tenth row, the crap that Trashville is flushing our way. That’s unfortunate and all I can say is

OUTSTANDING, PEEPS! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Think Gator The Dipstick will get the message? Ever? In a million years, maybe? Naw.

Thank God for Texas Music and the men – Waylon, Billie Joe, Ray Wylie, Willie, Tompall et al – who made it possible by turning their backs on that cesspool.

Via Blair Lovern, who’s got his own thoughts on the ridiculous notion of a Jeebusonapogostick Bon Jovi record being #1 on the Trashville charts…BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

It is redundant, I think, to make a comment that totally agrees with a post. But there it is. Or, here it is.

If it were COUNTRY music, instead of pop kaka, it might make a comeback. Just look at the performers. And, while you are at it, look at the people who are fans of the stuff. That ain’t neither kind of music or music fan, podnah. Country nor western, that is.

Scott Chaffin, you’ve just made my Friday with that nice little find. Thanks!

Hell, JD – comeback? It never freaking left. Somebody else went somewhere else. We’re still here, is my point. It’s those dumbshits in Tennessee that have the problem. And they’re getting their audience in stinking New York. They can have ‘em. They deserve each other.

Kevin, I’m happy to be of service.

When LA jews completely took over Nashville country music in the early ’90s, that was the beginning of the end.

It is weird watching CMT and wondering “didn’t they do this back in the early 70s?” Country rock? (that is what it is, but better back then) The Eagles? Jackson Browne? It is strange and sad to see a music form regress and then harden into schlock.

BTW, PJ; Scott’s blog is not really the venue for your pinhead anti-Semitism; you’d better sleep with the light on there are Jews everywhere, under the bed, in the closet, out to get you.

  6. Scott Chaffin Says:

For my money, the Eagles were one of the worst influence on rock EVER. They absolutely ruined it.

Sorry I missed that Jew horseshit. I should delete, but I’ll let it stand as a marker of stupidity.
