Newfound Very Minor Respect

“Try as I may, Governor, I’m not going to wait that long,” Gov. Perry said. “Adios, Mofo.”
- Texas Gov. Rick Perry, to a mediot, over an (unrealized) open mic
I had only barely heard this on the radio before I went to Paradise, and had forgotten it. Pretty dang funny audio, as I recall. I know we’re supposed to be all happy-happy and love each other and encourage a spirt of bipartisan hand-in-hand cooperation and it’s probably not the smartest thing a governor ever said, but this is one of my failings — I love a man (or lady) whipping on the press. I wish I could find the audio — it’s so smarmily frat-boy evil. heh heh
Reminded by Banjo, who also asks the rhetorical question “[...] why the poker craze? Couldn’t it have been Scrabble?” I give a suitably rhetorical (bull-poop) answer. The real answer is — ain’t nobody playing Scrabble for money that I know of. You think poker is big, wait until they unleash Scrabble-for-Dough. 150,000,000 liberal arts majors will be on that so fast, the interwebs will break.
Oh, and good closing lines: Don’t forget to feed Tina, & Adios, mofo…*
* Not you, Banjo.

I am so looking forward to this election. Did you hear Strayhorn’s description of herself when she announced? It was priceless - a laundry list of attacks on Perry in her usual way. Looks to be a good ‘ole fashioned mud-slinging.
And then just wait till John Sharp makes up his damn mind.

Nobody heard Strayhorn’s announcement. Perry’s special session announcement and prior leaks sucked up every bit of her political oxygen. Pretty hilarious stuff!

Strayhorn’s schtick is about as tiresome as schticks come. I hope she gets thrashed and retires so I don’t have to listen to that crap a minute longer.
And I hope the idiot Dems can field someone that isn’t a cartoon character. But the Dems are idiots…QED.

“Adios, mofo” is the best quote by a Texas governor since Preston “Drive Friendly” Smith’s comment to protestors chanting “Free Lee Otis” - “Sheeit, I like frijoles, too.”

Where would the Mecca of Scrabbling For Dough be?
Some Ivy League university town?

I’m thinking a sleepy midwestern college town, somewhere in Indiana or Iowa. But most likely, just the Internet. A mecca would be kind of counter-intuitive.

personally i prefer ann richards refering to the river rapids as being so stong that it was like every whore in el paso had flushed the comode at the same time.
