Random Junk from the Day
Posted by TFG on May 5th, 2005
Slogging through a six-hour online defensive driving course sucks, since I read fast, but it beats the hell out of sitting in cheesy hotel ballroom listening to a reedy-voiced teacher or random comedian. I can smoke, have a beer, listen to hayseed music, and do random surfing:
- Egomaniacal atheist & Libertarian Richard Bennett has some advice for Christians, by way of atheist wordsmith Christopher Hitchens. I love the smell of arrogance in the evening.
- Call me He of LIttle Faith. I was sure the Mavericks were gone after they basically played like 5 Fat Guys in Games 1 & 2. But they’ve swept the last three, and are in position to win the series tonight. Hey, I’m finally interested in a sport!
- But then again, who cares about hillbillies anyway? Must find a way for Craig to post more.
- Eric had the world’s least-known band’s album cover up as a quiz. Just can’t wait for the next one.
- Brilliant lawyer / superiour cook Steve pokes holes in the latest blog-fad.
- Actually, blogging has turned into something I need to quit doing. Poker, too. A few other things, as well.

TFG is the king of Blogin. His beer, his cigs, his computer, his tv remote, all are within reach of his broken swivel recliner. He slams a Keystone Tallboy while pounding away at his keyboard grining slighty just enough to keep the half smoked cig between his lips. All this while channel surfing and talking about a leaky tractor. PLus he holds down a full time job. Now that’s what I’m talkin about

I absolutely rely on TFG for a fair and balanced point-of-view.

I haven’t really followed the latest A-List blogger fad, but it seems to me that the “news” end seems determined to take a beautiful medium whose strength is its open source nature, and make it more like the club that decides what’s “news” in my Houston Chronicle.
NO FRIGGIN’ THANKS!
But I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to make themselves some money with it, and good for them I guess. I certainly haven’t figured it out.
