The car carry bill is waiting for Gov. Perry to sign. So is the bill authorizing the collection of biometric data from ALL drivers.
Give and take, I guess. I’d rather carry illegally in Big Red, than have my face and fingerprints* in a state database. But I gots no choice, looks like.
* Actually, they already are. I worked for a company that was regulated by the SEC. That was 20 years ago. I wonder if they’re still clogging up Washington in a file cabinet somewhere.

is that like you’ll have “no choice” when they tell you to bring your toothbrush and get on a cattle car? where’s your line, fat guy?

That will be a choice, and an easy one.

The rapidly declining professionalism and the rapidly increasing “bullyism” I see in law enforcement folk in my home state, all in the name of the “War on Drugs” or the “War on Terrorism” means I will never vote for any funding increases for law enforcement or any expansion of their powers ever again. They don’t need my biometrics or my DNA or any of that to keep the peace, and we all know that.
Anyway, onto a lighter topic-dang, I didn’t know Billy Joe Shaver was in “Secondhand Lions,” but he sure enough is, truncated fingers and all.
Also, you Texas folks are onto something with Bob Wills. I’m playing the fool out of his two CD Anthology (that may be the name-copyright 1991 Sony Music Entertainment) and it’s simply wonderful stuff. My word, “My Window Faces the South” could have been a Confederate marching tune-it’s just lively and like a ray of sunshine. I’m sure lots of Dixie expats up Nawth have sung it driving to work in the steel mills and car plants on snowy days, and smiled.
