If Not Now, When?

Posted by TFG on November 15th, 2004

It’s the fourth quarter, we’re down by 21 points, and there’s still a 41 year-old QB jogging out there. I’m convinced that Parcells took this head-coach job (and Jerry’s $48 billion) for the express purpose of padding Vinnie’s career passing stats. This sucks, greatly. I even told my mom tonight, as we discussed start time for dinner on Turkey Day, that it doesn’t matter what time the Cowboys start on Thanksgiving, nobody will give a damn.

Enough with the freaking U2 / iPod commercials, too. Vertigo is a not-that-great pop song that nobody would have noticed 30 years ago. Alice Cooper, the 2004 Alice, could kick this Bono’s ass. The Van Zandt boys would make him their #5 stage roadie, in charge of keeping fresh bottles of Jack close to hand on the Marshall stacks.

Great game. Not because I hate the Cowboys (which I do) or love the Eagles (which I don’t), but because I went into Monday night 10 points down in my fantasy football matchup, and Jason Witten scored me 25.

as a displaced michigander, i cheer for cowboy failure. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAWWWW!

can we now officially ban “genius” as a tuna descriptor?

  3. Jeff Pugh Says:

Now that the Giants have figured out that the rookie Manning is getting his chance, why have the ‘Boys not figgered out that Vinny-boy is not the answer and see why you gave up what you did for Henson?

This is frickin’ ridiculous. You know that I don’t pull for the ‘Boys and I’m happy my team has decided to go with the young gun no matter what.

    GO BENGALS!! BEAT DEM STEELERS!!

  4. Scott Chaffin Says:

Pig-headed pride, Jeffro. The Tuna is making a stand.

That’s not very neighborly there, Griff. I don’t laugh at the Lions, now, do I?

  5. Earl Says:

They still play football in Dallas?

  6. CJ Says:

I just love it that shortly, the list of NFC East QB’s will be:

    Eli Manning
    Patrick Ramsey
    Drew Henson
    Donovan McNabb

The first three have more career interceptions than starts. The last one is a perennial Pro Bowler. It’s great to be an Eagles fan!

  7. Scott Chaffin Says:

Not to put tooooooo fine a point on it, chief, but get back to me when McNabb has a ring.*

    * OK, that’s a cheap shot. McNabb is one of my favorite QBs in the game today. But my fading memories of glory are all I have to comfort me these days.
