As you can no doubt tell, I’m bored out of my skull. The program for the festival has gone to the printers, so there’s no more of that. There’s a few things left to be done down at the ranch, like mowing and trimming, and such like. I’ll work on all that this weekend and next week.
Just to torture myself, I went to Academy to look at kayaks. I think the one I want to get is the Pelican Viper, a sit-on-top design that’s cheap. Since most of my time will be spent on the old, slow Brazos in the spring and summer and fall, I don’t need anything that’s technically superior or anything. I mainly want to drink a cold beer or two and drift, maybe chunk a plug in every now and then.
I also decided to dust off the Specialized and air up the tires. If I’m gonna be sitting on my ass, I might as well be pedaling. If they stay up overnight, I’ll go for a ride in the morning. Outside of that, there ain’t a damn thing happening here.
